Monika was born in Brazil and moved to the United States at the age of 5. She is one of seven children and grew up in Northern Virginia area. She graduated with a marketing degree and arts minor from George Mason University. She lived in Washington D.C. before moving to Miami and is now a long-time South Beach resident.
