Peter joins Brown Harris Stevens following a globe-spanning career on Wall Street. Beginning his career as a member of Lehman Brothers’ Fixed Income team in New York, international opportunities soon led Peter to accept postings in Bangkok, Tokyo, and Singapore. Over this time, and then as Vice President, structuring complex financial transactions for institutional clients became his specialty. Peter eventually moved to London where he continued focusing on institutional Structured Product Sales for a boutique institution and returned to New York in 2008 in order to attain his Master’s degree in business administration. Following this, Peter continued his career with J.P. Morgan and the CME Group in New York, followed by an assignment back in London where he served as Global Head of Sales and Relationship Management for NetOTC.
Throughout Peter’s global travels and assignments, he found himself fascinated by the colonial ‘Black and Whites’ of Singapore, the geometric Georgian homes and the masterpieces of Sir Christopher Wren throughout London, the skyscrapers of Hong Kong, and of course the ever changing skyline of New York City. Thus, Peter decided to change tack and combine his professional financial market, negotiating, and relationship management skills with his personal passion for architecture and real estate by joining Brown Harris Stevens. Since then, Peter has quickly become a valued member of the team at the 445 Park Avenue location. He has been fortunate enough to learn the industry’s nuances from and work along-side BHS’s very seasoned and top brokers, particularly benefiting from the paedagogy of John Edwards. As a result, he is able to successfully manage his growing portfolio of real estate transactions. Peter certainly brings a unique global perspective to the New York real estate market and loves establishing close and meaningful client relationships with both local and international residents and investors. Peter eagerly looks forward to helping you achieve your real estate goals in the near future as well.
Peter earned his B.S. in Financial Economics from Lehigh University in 1996 and his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School in 2010. After settling back in New York, he currently resides in one of the landmarked Eastgate buildings in the historic Upper East Side area of Manhattan designed by the renowned architect Emory Roth. As a seasoned traveler and talented home cook, Peter enjoys sharing his personal journeys and perspectives with friends, family, and clients on Instagram (@peterstamas). Follow along!
