Named by English settlers after the London borough, the town showcases grand, colonial architecture reminiscent of America’s early days. It also features a highly sought-after Downtown with plenty of shopping, dining, and cultural attractions.

Known for its historic, impeccably maintained estates and classic New England architecture, Greenwich also features a variety of residential options—ranging from townhomes and apartments to spacious coastal properties with architecture reminiscent of nearby Norfolk and greater New England. While you won’t find high-rise developments in Greenwich, the area’s diverse architecture and housing options should not be overlooked.

Greenwich homes offer some of the most beautiful architecture and details. There are antique homes with great millwork and attention to detail as well as super sleek modern homes. There are not really cookie-cutter, mass-produced neighborhoods. The homes were built one at a time, offering unique character and charm.

The outdoor options are my favorite thing about living in Greenwich. People ask me if I go away in the summer and I always think: Why would I? I take advantage of being in a town with a beach and numerous water activities. I paddle board, kayak, run, and picnic at the beach on a regular basis. In the winter, I play platform tennis at the Cos Cob courts.

There are so many good restaurants in Greenwich. Some of my favorites are Meli-Melo for lunch, Doppio for family Italian, Le Penguin for a classic French bistro, Miku for sushi, Versailles for brunch, L’Escale for eating near the water, La Taqueria for casual tacos and margaritas, Orienta for Asian fusion, Mediterraneo for Mediterranean-inspired, and Raph’s Bakery for morning coffee and pastries (across the street from the BHS Greenwich office-come say hi!).

From large retailers to one-of-a-kind boutiques, Greenwich is a dream for anyone looking for elegant fashion or gift options. From Fred Boutique to Richards and Threads and Threads, Greenwich is home to plenty of locally owned shops.
