With 25 years of experience in the Manhattan premium residential real estate market, John Burger is one of the most senior, accomplished and successful brokers at Brown Harris Stevens, New York's oldest and most prestigious real estate firm.
The Wall Street Journal has repeatedly recognized Mr. Burger as one of the highest producing brokers in New York City and placed him “in the top one percent of the top one percent of real estate professionals in America”.
Mr. Burger had the distinction of being the firm's top producing broker in 2003, a year in which the company exceeded all previous sales records in its 130 year history. In each subsequent year, he has consistently surpassed his own sales record. In 2005, he set a new record in New York City for achieving the highest price ever paid for a cooperative apartment, the sale of a magnificent 20 room penthouse triplex on Fifth Avenue for $44 million. In 2008, he once again broke that record by achieving the highest price ever paid for a Manhattan cooperative to date, $46 million.
His outstanding professionalism, and encyclopedic knowledge of Manhattan's finest apartments and townhouses, have proven to be tremendous assets in brokering over a billion dollars of Manhattan real estate sales.
Over the past 25 years, he has represented both buyers and sellers in all of the top buildings on Fifth and Park Avenues, as well as Central Park West. His clients have come to depend on his considerable expertise and market knowledge. They receive the highest level of personalized attention. He works closely with a full time assistant to ensure that no detail is overlooked.
John Burger was born in Manhattan and resides on the Upper East Side, as well as in Water Mill, New York. He is fluent in English, Spanish and German. He deals extensively with international clients through the firm's Christie's Great Estates network, encompassing 850 affiliate offices in more than 40 countries.
Mr. Burger is a member of The Real Estate Board of New York, which honored him with an award.
